Families in Sepia

Originally a dark brown ink obtained from the Sepia cuttlefish, sepia became a photographic process used in the early days of photography because of the longevity it imparted to the images. That's why so many of the old photographs still around are sepia toned; they simply outlasted the standard black and white photographs. These days, a mouse click gives digital photos a similar effect.
