Winter Overtakes Autumn

The leaves from my sweetgum tree are now scattered from yesterday's winter storm. From the looks of these leaves, little icicles had formed on their tips while the temperatures hovered just at the freezing mark yesterday, and then when the wind picked up and the temperatures dropped to single digits last night the leaves let go of the tree but the tiny icicles remained attached to the leaf tips. Cool stuff. (The last one is from a sugar maple . . . )

Of course Niagara Falls is a feast for the senses, but honestly, the entire park area (Niagara Falls and Goat Island) on the American side is quite beautiful, especially in autumn. Anakainosis

Anakainosis: a renewal, a renovation, a complete change for the better. Obviously this is a post featuring senior pictures, but the subject in these portraits happens to love the Greek word mentioned above. It is used twice in the New Testament: Romans 12:2 and Titus 3:5. Oh yeah, and it's also on the neck of her guitar - look closely at the second photograph...
